The history of growth and development of the institution is an account of the ardent zeal and dedicated endeavor of the educationalist of Gunupur Prof (Dr) Satya Prakash Panda, for the spread of technical education in Odisha. GGI has a thriving and vibrant population of students on its campus in the Odisha state of India that has created a unique community atmosphere encouraging serious study and personal development. Gandhi Group of Institutions (GGI) is a part of vidya varati educational trust and is established in 1996 which is a non-governmental organization at Gunupur in Rayagada district in the state of Odisha (south-region). The first institute of GGI is GIET. GIET established in 1997 and started its academic program with only 05 departments, 200 students and 30 teachers. GIET is under vidya varati trust and the name of founder is Prof (Dr) Satya Prakash Panda. GIET is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, India and affiliated to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology Government of Odisha. It has also gotapproved from AICTE for admission of foreign nationals and P IO’s. GIET now was under consideration for the status of the university with potential for Excellence by the UGC. GIET is an ISO 9000:2000 certified institute for maintaining its quality technical education. National Board of Accrediction (NBA) AICTE, Govt. of India has acrideted five BTech branches and also acrideted NAAC “A” certificate. The Institute has recognized by DSIR (Govt. of India) as an institution for quality Research. GIET is steadily moving towards fulfilling its vision that a becoming a global leader in technical and professional education. Whose mission is to impart futuristic and comprehensive educational standard with a high sense of discipline and social relevance in a serene and invigorating environment. Starting from this modest beginning, the Institute has expanded today to have four organizations. These are Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET), Gandhi Institute of Management studies (GIMS), Gandhi Institute of Biological Studies (GIBS), Gandhi Public School (GPS). BTech, MSc, MTech, MBA are offered in different branches of engineering Science, and management through various departments. The Institute is laid out 65 acres. Founded in 2004 and situated at Bhubaneswar and the college is a part of the famous Vidya Bharati Educational Trust – founder of the famed GIET, Gunupur.
